Goodwill Ambassadors Adult Volleyball Tour June 2003

Itinerary
Day 1. depart Seattle: Depart from
Sea Tac airport (Seattle) or other gateway city) for our flight to London
Heathrow airport. We will have two in flight feature movies. Our Accommodations
will be at the Regent Hotel Piccadilly Circus downtown London. The afternoon and evening are free to sample the
sights, sounds and pubs of downtown London.
Day 2. London: The TUBE (subway) will take us
to central London, where we have a full day of sightseeing with our local guide.
We will walk through St. James Park to Buckingham
Palace for the Horseguard's Parade, and the changing of the guard at 11:30. This
is followed by a visit to Westminister Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. We
continue up Parliament Street, past Downing Street, (the home of the Prime
Minister) and the Queen's Guards. We take the TUBE to the Tower of London where
many famous figures in English history were imprisoned. If there is time, we can
also stop at the Temple Church, one of only three round churches in England.
This is where the effigies of 12th century English Knights are on display. The
London Dungeon is another stop we will make, (not for the squeamish). Other
places of interest on our city tour are; Piccadilly Circus, Regent Street, &
Oxford Street, the main shopping area of the capital city. The world- famous
British Museum is located on Great Russell Street, which is not far from the
Virgin Megastore (records, tapes, CD's and video's). The other major music and
video outlet is the HMV. The Hard Rock Cafe is not far from Piccadilly.
Maybe take in a London play, or sample the many London Pubs
Day 3. London Personal sightseeing, and
shopping are planned for the day. Perhaps return to some of the exciting
sights of the previous days tour, i.e. have lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe,
and perhaps loose your lunch at the London Dungeon, or set out on a river
tour of London. Several competitions are planned for the evening. After
the match, some social time with our opponents. Sample the local Pubs.
Day 4.
London Free day for personal sight seeing and shopping. Several
competitions are planned for the evening. After the match, some social time with
our opponents. Sample the local Pubs..
Day
6. Paris: AM departure to Paris via the Euro Star train. We will travel under
the English channel (through the "Chunnel" and arrive in downtown
Paris. A full sightseeing tour of Paris with a local guide. The Louvre,
(see the Mona Lisa) Place de Concorde, Arch de Triumph, Notre Dame, and the
Eiffel Tower, will be included on our tour. Take the elevator for an
unforgettable panorama of the city, (not for those who dislike heights). The Evening
is free to go downtown sightseeing. Accommodations will be at the Grand Hotel
Richer (located 10 minutes from the heart of Paris). Grand Hotel Richer, 60 Rue
Richer - 75009 Paris.

Day 7. Paris:
A tour to Versailles . Versailles is a 30 minute train ride to the
outskirts of Paris. One of the most Beautiful Palaces in Europe. The Palace of
Versailles is also where the peace treaty of the First World War was signed in
the famous Hall of Mirrors. The evening is free to enjoy the night life of
Paris..
Day 8. Paris: Free day for personal sight seeing and shopping. Volleyball
matches in the evening.

Day 9. Geneva: An early morning train
departure for Geneva, Switzerland. Upon arrival in Geneva we
will check into our accommodations at the Geneva Youth Hostel (1 block
from the Lake). Volleyball matches are planned for the evening. The Geneva
Youth Hostel address is; 30, Rue Rothschild 1202 Geneva.
Day 10. Geneva: A full sightseeing tour
of Geneva with a local guide. A mini volleyball tournament is planned for the
evening against local teams. A players social is scheduled after the
competition.

Day 11.
Venice: An early morning train
departure for Venice, Italy. We will visit the ancient city of Venice. Take a
ride on one of the beautiful Gondolas through the canals of Venice. Visit San
Marcos square and Cathedral, and the Bridge of Sighs. Our accommodations in
Venice will be at Calderon Hotel in the heart of Venice., located on the Island
of Venice, 10 minutes from San Marcos
square. A mini-volleyball tournament is planned for the evening against local
teams of Mestre located just outside of Venice. A players social is scheduled
after the competition.

Day
13.
Venice: A full sightseeing tour of Venice with a local guide. A mini-volleyball
tournament is planned for the evening against local teams of Treviso located
just outside of Venice. A players social is scheduled after the competition.
Day
14. Rome: Departure for Rome,
possibly the highlight of the entire tour--- Ancient Rome. Upon arriving we will
go to our accommodations at the Hotel Rimini conveniently
located near the train station, 10 minutes from the heat of the city. Volleyball matches with local club teams are planned for the
evening.
Day
15.
Rome: We will have a full day of guided sightseeing, the sights will include
visit the Vatican, the Coliseum, the Sistine Chapel, and famous works of
Michelangelo. Volleyball matches with local club teams is also planned, as well
as plenty of time to go shopping.

Day 16.
Personal sightseeing, and shopping are planned for the day. Perhaps return
to some of the exciting sights of the previous days tour, the Vatican,
Roman Coliseum, Sistine Chapel.
Day 17. Free day in Rome.....Departure from Rome back to the United States.

Round trip International Airfare from Seattle (other arrangements from
other cities are available contact us for the special rate from your home town);
